About our store

Lauda is a true family-run small business. When you enter, you'll most likely be greeted by the owner, Amelia - or possibly one of her small helpers.

Inside you'll find all kinds of stationery and gifts for creative people, introverts, homebodies, and lovers of all things cozy. Established in 2022, Lauda hosts a curated selection of beautiful, practical items to inspire your creativity. From notebooks, to greeting cards, to art supplies, to self care treats, you'll find unique gifts and supplies for a slower, gentler way of life.

You'll find us snuggled between Tacoma's downtown and Hilltop districts. The storefront is open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, from 11am to 5pm. Come visit us! Our address is 506 S 11th Street Tacoma, WA, 98402. Get directions.

About the owner

Amelia with typewriters

Amelia has lived in Tacoma since New Year's Day, 2016 - which makes this the longest she's lived anywhere. When she's not at the shop, you can find her journaling, reading, gardening, staring out the window daydreaming, listening to boygenius, or camping in a vintage trailer - all with her two kids by her side.

Amelia is pictured here at rather young age, photographed by her old college boyfriend, an artsy boy from Tacoma who she eventually married and had kids with. Back then, Polaroids, typewriters, and Lucky Strikes were all they needed to support a wildly creative and irresponsible lifestyle. It was a simpler time.

About the real Lauda

Lauda is named for Lauda Newlin Jennings Cone, Amelia's great grandmother.

Lauda is pronounced "Law duh," but we don't mind when you say it in a cute Scandinavian way.
